TESTIMONIALS

"Moises Linares' funky, sexy drum loop became the perfect foundation for "Al Monte", currently PALO!'s most popular song. He was a joy to work with. ¡Gracias, Moi!"

4Beat Music is how I call myself  when I'm performing and producing as a musician.

My professional career as a drummer has developed from playing, touring nationally and internationally as well as recording with a diverse array of musical projects. I grew up with a daily, urban soundtrack of beats and Latin rhythms because of my dad. He used to play to me music from Carlos Santana, Boleros from the 60’s and 70’s, mambos from Perez Prado and other musical offerings from Frank Sinatra and James Brown. This early exposure to various musical styles awakened my obsession for consuming and playing music – a musical obsession that has stayed with me through my professional career. After playing locally with local bands and in social events as a drummer, I started to explore different channels to expand my musical dreams.

In 2002, I attended the Percussion Institute & Technology (PIT) program at Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA where I graduated with a college degree in music performance. It was during that time where I made a commitment to master and expand my musical ambitions. In 2005, I relocated to Mexico City and began playing as a drummer with a group of talented musicians in night clubs around the city and along with pop artists such as Rio Roma, Manuel Mijares, Ha-Ash, Ernesto D’Alessio and Matute among others.

After 6 years of extensive late night playing, recording/producing and teaching, I moved to San Antonio, Texas where I was recruited to play in bands representing genres like Texas Blues, Tejano, Jazz, Cumbia, Rock and Salsa. This last genre took me in a journey to master my skill to play timbales in a 10-piece Salsa orchestra. During my time in SATX, I had the chance to learn about the music merchant industry along with an incredible team in one of the largest music stores in the U.S. I had the fortune to  play as a drummer in television shows including Kens5 San Antonio, Fox News SA, Univision, and MTV tr3s. In 2013, I relocated to the Magic City of Miami, Florida and quickly began collaborating with the local scene of incredible musicians and projects such as Albert Castiglia (Junior Wells), Palo (Grammy Nominated band), Guillermo Davila (Venezuelan superstar), Itawe Correa (Grammy Nominated artist), Sarah Packiam, Minimal, Dama Vicke, and Nacho Londono just to name a few of them.

During this year, I discovered another passion that has made a huge impact on my professional career. I began finding the magic behind sounds by deeply studying the techniques of audio recording and A/V production. During my academic studies in music business at Miami Dade College, I was recruited to work along RME Audio as a brand ambassador and artist relations in Latin America and collaborated with major music technology companies such as Focusrite, Universal Audio, Blue Microphones, AEA Microphones, Teenage Engineering, Roadie Tuner, Soundbrenner, Strymon ,Empress Effects, Arturia, Moog, GruvGear, Aquarian Drum heads and Big Fat Snare drum. In 2018, I became part of the Singular Sound team and quickly began mastering my video production responsibilities with the creation of thoughtful media content to send the right message and engage diverse audiences worldwide. This exposure was key on my determination to pursue my BA in Multimedia Studies at Florida Atlantic University.

In 2020, I started a new video documentary series called 4Beat Media. This series of videos  features talented musicians and their journey on developing their craft as artists. The growth I have reached in the last seven years of my life has helped me to define new goals while boosting my strengths. Envisioning how to take creativity to the next level using innovative gear is what pushes my committed to express and deliver high quality media content. My goal is to be able to inspire others and make people move with the sound of a good drum groove. All the recording and multimedia material in this site is recorded/produced at my studio located in Oakland Park, FL and this is also where I record with my original Fusion-Funk band, POCKiT.
